Help with Freeview, aerials?
Tuesday, 11 April 2017
I receive a signal from Rowridge, I live at Bognor Regis approx 20 miles away. I receive most signal OK, but not Sky News and others on the same multiplex. Does anyone know why this and the others on this multiplex are hopeless ?

Phil: Is your aerial horizontally polarised (elements pointing side to side) or vertically polarised (elements going up and down)? Rowridge is unusual in that it broadcasts in both polarities, with the commercial multiplexes at much higher power in vertical than horizontal. If your aerial is currently horizontal, rotating it to vertical should significantly improve reception for you. It will also help reduce the amount of co-channel interference you're getting from Crystal Palace, which uses the same frequencies as Rowridge for COM4-6 and is predicted to have a weak signal present at your postcode.

Tim Austin: The TV is working fine - its telling you you have a problem with your aerial system, and if you look at your manual it will guide you to the most common problems. Classic problem is the cable at the back of the TV has become loose or come out. Check all your cables, and if still no joy, then you might need a professional.

Really after paying TV license fees for years the BBC feel the taxpayers should be supporting them even though they never hide manafactors of products used in very watched soaps ( eastenders) which alone should bring in enough revenue along with Peaky Blinders ,, I'm for no more licence fees as the BBC makes enough without any funding from the Taxpayers..

Ceanach O'CRUDACH : Do you have any figures showing how much the BBC gets paid for product placement? Any source to back up what your are claiming?
