Gerald Cant: Update: Oct/Nov 2021. New DAB transmitter proposed at Gayton, plus use of existing comms tower in KL to transmit Small Scale DAB for KL ~7 villages to the East. I don't yet know which BAND III channel will be used but this ought to be made public when the new transmitters are turned on. Within the coverage area, an AUTOTUNE should find these new signals, so look out for news in local press, radio and tv, during Oct /Nov. 2021.

David Chambers: Hi, David. If you're in Bacton, it isn't very likely that you're using the Mendlesham mast (in my opinion) because at more than 45 miles from you, I believe it will be outside your coverage area.

Paddy McElroy : Hi, Paddy: you are posting to the wrong website to comment on broadcast content: this is a technical website, where you can comment on tv or radio reception issues. Mark A.: Hi, MarkA. BBC1 Regional News on Free'VIEW' in HD rolls out in the regions between NOW (February 2023) and April 2023. The best thing you can do is tune into Channel 101 at BBC Local News time and see whether you are getting the 'red slate slide or you're local news. leslie: Hi, Leslie. The service to which you refer is no longer called Ceefax. It is now called the BBC Red Button Service, which you get by pressing the red button on your remote to bring up a text service containing news, weather sport, etc, etc. As far as I'm aware, this service is still working as it should. If you are missing this, and/ or any other channels on your Freeview tv, why not do a retune? Make sure you do a 'first-time installation' type of retune, although you'll temporarily lose any channels with favourite markers on, that you've previously programmed in as favourites, although they'll come back again, but no longer marked as favourites. Mark A: Older tvs CAN receive HD if you SIMPLY give them an HDMI input FROM a FREEVIEW HD SET-TOP BOX fed with a signal from your TV AERIAL FEED. Simply run a 'scan for channels' on the FREEVIEW HD SET-TOP BOX and it will find the HD Channels available in your area and project them onto your OLD TV SCREEN via HDMI cable. if the OLD TV SET is TOO OLD to have an HDMI input, then you need a FREEVIEW HD SET-TOP BOX with a 'SCART' output and feed its output into the SCART input on the OLD TV. Freeview HD set-top boxes are available for 'next to nothing on online auctions and sales of pre-used goods websites. Hope this helps, Richard in Norwich.

I have always preferred Manhattan stbs to Humax, but NOW, I'm drawn to 'sticks' (aka dongles), especially ROKU.

Peter Sharpe: Trial Norwich Multiplex, now in 2021, called the Future Digital Norwich Multiplex or 'FDN' for short, continues to use 9A as of June 2021. See my separate post, wrongly placed in the local DAB Norfolk Multiplex section ( Sorry, Brian!), regarding the recent application to Ofcom for a local/community DAB licence for the King's Lynn, aka 'West Norfolk' Area, comprising King's Lynn town and surrounding villages.
