It has always been a group A transmitter and so surely the vast majority of people will have a group A aerial. So it seems a large number of people will have to pay for a new group T aerial to be fitted if they wish to continue receiving the Com7 and Com8 channels. Rich pickings for aerial fitters and since my aerial is at the top of a 20 ft pole not simple for me and particularly annoying since I frequently watch Ch4+1 HD and 4Seven HD as well as BBC4 HD (but not anymore). What is the point of moving Com7 and Com8 to a single frequency network on channel 55? This seems so unnecessary and costly. Just leave Com 7 where it is and keep its capacity unchanged!!

I live in a bit of a hollow (PO7 8QG, Waterlooville) and so I have a TV aerial on a tall mast with an amplifier. With this set up I am able to receive all the main HD TV channels. I watch BBC4 HD a significant proportion of my viewing time. I was able to receive BBC4 HD when it was on Com7 (and the other HD channels on Com7) but near the signal/error rate limit. Following the move to the Com8 multiplex on channel 37 neither of my TVs have been able to tune to the channels of Com8, so I have now lost BBC4 HD altogether which is very annoying. I assume the combination of the lower power of Com8 and the roll off of my Band A aerial means the signal is now below the threshold. From R Murchie's posts this is not limited to me.
