Before I go and buy one, is there any reason for the sky+ box to stop just because it has been moved to a communal dish?
E.g. does it need to be told (through some setting) that it's now connected to a different dish and must be tuned to a different frequency ?
That is, the socket on the wall may well be pumping out a signal but is not compatible to the box ?

I am trying to help an elderly friend to get her sky+ box working in her new room in a sheltered home.
She used this box successfully in her old house without any problems.
She has no sky subs.
The box does not have a viewing card.
The telephone line is NOT connected.
The old house had a single dish.
The new apartment is part of the sheltered home where they have a communal dish. Every flat has 3 sockets on the wall (Sat, TV, FM).
I connected the new cable from the sat socket to the sky+ box on Input1.
Box says that there no signal.
I contacted teh warden to say that her flat has no signal. The warden assured me that every is pumped. I have no way verifying this.
I found the sky System Health Check menu and ran that.
The result code was WH91.
For both Input1 & 2, the signal status(?) was 4WWW-WWWA.
What else can I try to get her going ?
Thx.
