I live in Luton and have two tv's with freeview built in. When connected to the arial my Sony tv works fine on all channels.
When I plug in my Samsung tv to the same arial Mulitplex 1 (BBC Channels) do not work properly. The BER is high and the signal strength flickers from 0% -25%. Yet the exact same set up on a different tv and the signal strength is 75% and BBC works fine.
Please help

I have tried switchin off every appliance in the house but to no avail. I find it odd that the reception is fine on another television. That would suggest it is the reciever in the TV which is having problems.
But then the fact that all the other channels other than the BBC range are working fine makes me wonder if it can be the TV>

Yes everything is exactly the same except the TV. I am wandering if it is likely to be a fault with the freeeview receiver within the Samasung telly. If so I need to return it before the warranty expires at the end of the month.
But if the other channels are all working fine would this suggest the TV is not the problem?

My grandparents are having problems receiving Multiplex 1. They have a new Samasung TV with Freeview built in and all the other channels are fine but on Multiplex 1 the BER flickers 30% - 80% and the signal strength flickers between 0% and 25%. This results in a the picture and sound freezing or breaking up.
I recently bought a Sony TV which I brought round and tested. On this TV which also has freeview built in Multiplex 1 works fine and the signal strength is consistently above 75%.
Please can you advise on the best way forward. I have tried re-tuneing the Samsung telly but the problem remains.
