There must be another explanation! Although we have trees around we have line of sight and I do not see how ground dropping would affect could understand a rise between house and transmitter. Leaves are trees all summer but we loose signal for 2 hours at a time. Nice still night no wind to give movement on trees.

Dave, and does the explanation of trees explain why I now have channels 1 and 2. As stated it is a calm night with no branch movement. I feel that it is interruptions to signal strength in this direction from the transmitter that is the cause of the problem.
Do not know what the red area is in the line of sight. Base reference to the house is not exact, we sit about 100m further back.

Dave, picking up on your point on the analogue. Reception was good , since digital switchover the have been numerous issues which last for a number of weeks at a time.

Dave, it appears to be the opposite. A weak signal leading gradually to the picture and sound breaking up and then the complete loss of signal. We have three sets and each one breaks up they all cannot be suffering from tuner overload.

Very interesting this evening no signal at the moment on PSB 1,2 and 3 but all channels on COM 4,5 and 6 being received. As the licensing authority cannot guarantee a picture on digital think my best course of action is to move to satellite or cable.

Dave, it can't be overload there is only one TV on. Is the transmit tiro investigating the signal problems rather than guessing what the problem may be?

Dave, so what is the solution to the assumed overloading?
During this conversation firstly services on PSB2 returned followed about 30 mins later by PSB1. I am completely mystified by our level of service!

Can you advise please if the Dorris transmitter is working on reduced power? Since The 25th we have been loosing channels at various times of the day including digital radio channels through the TV..since 8.37 this morning there has been a complete break of the channels on PSB2, since 13.03 we have had picturisation on the channels on PSB2. Yesterday for most of the daylight hours we had no picture on both PSB1 and PSB2;, the picture then returned for the evening. In the summer we do have problems due to leaves and needles on the trees but since the leaves dropped we have had no issues until this week. A sudden, immediate break in service would appear to indicate a sudden weakening of the signal.. My postcode is AB31 5RT. As at 13.27 PSB1 channels have returned to normal but PSB2 channels report no signal. They will probably come back in the early evening! Very frustrating!

Can you advise why over the past two weeks we have had no digital at times from the Durris Transmitter. Sometimes it is BBC channels at other times channels 3 and 4. This evening it is channels 1 to 4 plus all the rest of the digital channels. Location is west Banchory post code AB31 5RT. Please do not tell me there are no reported problems this is happening all to often again after a period of stability over the winter and spring.
