Below are all of Kevin Haddow's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page. Thanks for the suggestions. I removed the signal booster from the equation, but it made no difference except signal quality and strength peaks dropped significantly. I also tried replacing the coax cable from the wall socket into the HD recorder with a better quality one, but again that made no difference either. As I said, it's only been happening for about the last week or so, everything was fine prior to then.
I would guess if there is no work going on, and no changes to the HD mux at Emley Moor at present compared to a week or two ago, then it's probably down to atmospheric conditions. Roll on DSO in September. Thanks for the suggestions.

UPDATE: Whatever was going on appears to have resolved itself. The weather today was pretty much the same as the last few days, mixture of sunshine and showers and rather breezy but there has been no picture break up today. Signal strength is also back to around the 50-60% mark consistently and is stable.

Everything was fine on the HD mux, even during it's reported weak signal period today. However, since around 6pm when I returned home after a quick trip out, it's unmatchable. Mass of picture break up, squeeking of the audio and signal strength fluctuation from around 60% right down to 0%.
Roll on switchover :)

Appears to have settled down now, signal strength and quality back up to normal and no picture breakup.

More HD reception problems again this morning Sunday 17th July. Once again unwatchable. :(
Between Barnsley and Wakefield with direct line of sight to Emley Moor.

I've been getting some picture breakup on the HD channels for about the last week or so. Mainly happens at night, but has been happening through the day today. Signal strength on my box hovers around 60% but drops to 0% for a fraction of a second frequently, coinciding with the break ups. I have direct line of sight to Emley Moor and I am just to the South of Wakefield. The last time this happened it coincided with some work going on at the end of last year, but there is apparently no work going on at present. The aerial is on the roof too, and even a signal booster makes no difference.
