Below are all of Anthony's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Adrian. I live not far from you in Timperley and can confirm that the signal in our area is very strong. No one so far as I know has fitted group C/D aerials in this area for years so you must have some kind of a fault. As the aerial is only 2 years old get the installer back as they have not done the job correctly, mention Trafford trading standards if they object. Perhaps the aerial has blown around in the recent gales due to poor installation. Some of my TVs are fed from an old yaggi style indoor aerial, bought from an Asian corner shop years ago, screwed to a beam in the loft . The signal is via an old fashioned lossy splitter but they still get get all the new HD channels with a strong signal and 100% quality. That's how strong the signal is here.

I think its off air and has been since before Christmas. My TVs all show no signal at all being received, normally the signal is weak but useable. No one else seems to have noticed, given the appalling content and picture quality I'm not surprised.

Man Mux is back on air. Signal strength is slightly up and signal quality is quite high. Perhaps the engineers at winter hill unplugged it so they could use the socket to make a brew!

No problem with reception in Altrincham, signal levels unchanged. Suggest you get the aerial fitter back as it sounds like he has done a cowboy job.

Com 7 from winter hill is 24KW, not 14 as shown on this page, The GIM multiplex hasn't been QPSK for some years either.

If I understand that OFCOM page correctly, and it's not easy to follow.
Com 7 is 25.7kw
Manchester and Liverpool petals are 2kw.
Preston petal is 1kw
GIM is 1kw.

These were the only spare channels, and power levels, available, all modern aerials are wide band so channel 31 isn't a problem for many people. The BBC has been recommending the use of wide-band aerials ever since digital transmissions. began. The 800Mhz band (channels 61-68) was reallocated to 4G and the 700Mhz band might well follow. As this is a government, not a BBC, decision you must address your complaint to your MP including any claim for a replacement aerial. That's what he is for.

If it is a new aerial it is almost certainly wide band but your installer should be able to confirm this. BBC4 HD is on com 7 which is a temporary lower powered multiplex, that combined with the fact that the 2000T has an insensitive tuner is likely to be causing your problems. You can check the signal strength and quality via the menu (settings then signal detection) Com 7 is on channel 31.

I have found the tuners on the Fox T2 and 9200 to be sensitive but not the 2000T, also confirmed in other forums.
