Below are all of Charlie's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I have a modern TV which provides high definition reception on BBC's 1 & 2, ITV and Channel 4. It's only just recently that when looking in the newspapers' TV page I find that certain programmes on Channel 5 are indicated as 'HD'. It appears that my new TV in not capable of 'pulling in' this further HD channel. Or is it something I'm doing wrong? Suggestions would be most welcome.

I have two Samsung Smart TVs. One receives a signal directly from the aerial and to my knowledge has 'collected' all of the available channels. The other TV which is power-boosted a short distance away appears to receive all channels with the exception of Channel 81 Talking Pictures and Channel 82 Vintage TV. I have tried several ways for this TV to 'pull in' those channels but all attempts have failed. Are those two channels somewhat weaker than the rest and the signal booster is the decider on whether or not they get successfully tuned? Kind regards and advanced thanks.

KMJ Derby: Thank you for your very detailed reply, but with respect, I can't say that I fully understand it - mainly because it appears from your explanation that, for my area, the true BBC source is Emley Moor. I had no idea where Emley Moor is situated but on checking I find it is near Leeds. Now, this Yorkshire-located source for BBC is probably the culprit for my poor to non-existent reception. However, when opting for manual channel selection the situation is well and truly corrected, and everything in expected channel number order, by achieving Winter Hill's output for everything, including BBC programmes, and this being confirmed by checking the signal information. I don't know whether I'm just slow on the uptake here or what . . . Kind Regards
