Thanks for replying. I won't miss Al Jazeera and RT in HD when they move to 55.
I did a manual tune, and nothing was found for 55 and 56.
Other comments make me wonder whether a change of aerial would make any difference (in SO23 9TA). Unless this is the thin end of the wedge in terms of moving channels out of the range of pre-Freeview aerials.

I can't see the post from Mike P that you refer to - I would be grateful if you could provide the link or tell me how to find it? Will MIke P's post also tell me how to contact Freeview Advice Line.
I'm tempted to say WTF is going on, but I won't. If I could only have one channel on my desert island, it would be BBC 4. Seems suspicious that I can still get Al Jazeera and RT in HD.
