Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) Full Freeview transmitteWednesday 6 April 2011 6:29PM

Hi Briantist,
From my current location (Postcode ST19), what are the chances of me picking up HD Freeview signal from 20th April from Bromsgrove or otherwise (since Sutton Coldfield/Lichfield doesn't change til September) with a wideband aerial?
Many thanks.

@Mike
I did think Lichfield might be an option. I've yet to actually put the wideband aerial up, and while 5 on analogue has a pretty good picture (not perfect though) we've not found any HD channels upon scan. It is pointing towards Sutton, so we can readjust with the wideband aerial and see what we get from Lichfield.
The Digital UK site did reckon that the strongest overall signal for all the Muxs was Bromsgrove, which made me wonder whether that might be a viable shrot term option until September.
Cheers.

(Don't tend to have any issues with Mux D from Sutton Coldfield, by the way - only very occasionally)
Might I struggle with Mux B from the Wrekin? What is the reasoning behind Mux B not being listed on the Digital UK site from some transmitters?
Thanks again.

Looks like it'll be a case of trial and error between Lichfield and the Wrekin, then. I'll give it a go after the second phase in a fortnight. Thanks.

Having a bit of an odd one here with some of the DVB-T2 channels.
Ever since Motors TV was added we've been having problems with the following channels, which have stuttering picture or audio:
ITV HD
BBC News HD
Al Jazeera HD
Motors TV
Jewellery Maker
I'm struggling to see a common thread between them. All the other channels on the respective UHF channels are working great. And ITV HD is not even on the same mux as the others!
Having tried a signal booster which may or not be a placebo-type device (I dunno, but it definitely boosted the signal rating on the box, which now reads as very strong for the affected channels), I've still no solution.
Prior to the boost to COM7 a while after it first launched the same symptoms occurred, but when they switched it to full power the problems resolved. That's why I'm assuming this is a signal thing, but I can't really get my head around it.

Sorry, should clarify:
The symptoms only occurred on the COM7 channels like 4seven HD and Channel 4+1 HD. ITV HD etc was never affected.

Sorry for the triple post, but having done some diagnostics with a different aerial that does not display the stutter on other devices, the PVR showed the same symptoms.
So it looks like it's the box - whether that's a technical fault or something to do with the way it deals with the incoming signal that might've changed when the new channels were added the other week.
I've seen people on some other sites with different devices complaining of sound issues since then too. However, as nobody here appears to have similar issues I'm guessing it's quite isolated. Will just have to make do with the SD equivalent channels for now.

If I'm north-west of Lichfield (Postcode ST19), what are the chances of me getting Freeview HD before September? And Would a different aerial help? (52.7185,-2.1067)
