You DO need a subscription card for the recording! You could buy a freeSat PVR box, Humax do one as well as others, They offer HD and recording without the need for a card.

So experience is the best, Not to sure dish sizes outside of southern spain as I have not worked there, But all there is to know about all sky and freesat! Just ask,
