Actually the TV Licence does NOT just pay for the BBC channels. It actually also pays for all the work needed to make sure competing radio and digital TV signals flying through the air do not interfere with each other - if the licence fee did not cover this service you would not get clear TV or radio signals/channels. That's why you have to buy a licence even if you don't watch the BBC yet you do watch any other channel. If more people knew the truth about this maybe they'd be less upset about what they're paying for.
I've worked in satellite communications regarding television so know this to be fact.
If you watch ANY TV service you pay the fee to keep the service running clearly. ;)
No fee = No service = No TV channels for you. :)
Or does everyone forget that satellites etc need maintenance? :-P

Having said that - to the person that fell asleep during a programme they paid for..... it's noone's fault but your own if you fell asleep. If you buy a pay-per-view programme then don't fall asleep while it's on. :/ A cinema wouldn't give you a refund or a new ticket to watch the movie again if you fell asleep during it and a TV station can't be expected to hold responsibility for your sleeping times. :/ Noone owes you anything; sorry.
If you have a tendency to fall asleep during shows then go buy a TEVO Box of some kind so you can record your freeview programmes and play back the bits you missed in future.
Some pay-per-views let you re-watch the programme as many times as you like in 24 hours... but I get the impression you were only talking about paying for a TV Licence, not a pay-per-view show. If it's a movie you missed the ending from you could always buy a DVD or see if it's repeated in the future or on an On Demand service.
Other than that you're looking for an illegal way to get the programme but I can't help you there. :-P
Those are your options for the future anyway. :) Basically though - don't fall asleep if you've paid for something specially. ;)
I have a narcoleptic friend who was overjoyed at receiving a TEVO Box to make up for always falling asleep and missing bits. It's your best option really. :) She doesn't get a reduction in her TV Licence and, in her case, falling asleep really is not her fault.
Finally - if you do something silly don't shout at random strangers demanding that they owe you for something that is not their fault as it's not a good idea. You have to take responsibility for the things you waste hun and that's the truth. :-P
