I wonder how practical this application is for example concerning the BBC North-west/Granada region using the Winter Hill transmitter?
All TV services,analogue/pre DSO/post DSO and 3x local mues, have always or now use frequencies above 700 Mhz from this transmitter.Which means that up until now, viewers have never needed to change their group C/D TV Aerial.A region whereby not a single TV Aerial has needed to be changed ever until potentially now?(Winter Hill Transmitter)for this purpose.
In practice an Aerial of a higher group may pull in frequencies that are lower than the Aerial is designed for,but in fringe areas will not work at all, particularly the proposed com muxes using(channels 22,25,28).
Therefore, many TV Aerials will need replacing and 'Granada Land' will then
need a second generation switch-over process!
How will that go down with viewers?for the sake of mobile Broadband services!

Briantist;according to your" Co-allocations"re-allocation of frequencies, future PSB muxes channels 39/42/45 from Winter Hill, will then co-channel with the Com muxes from Sutton Coldfield! What a potential mess!

Bernard Hunt, thank you for that.....yes i can see that from measuring general signal levels in different locations.
In favoured spots north of The Ridge hill service area where signal levels are good,i can pick up the extra ITV Mux/Ch29....between 25-30db down on the other services...which of course is a bonus!to receive another regional news magazine.

Hi Alan J Smith,to answer your question,if you can receive the Sutton Coldfield transmitter from your location, then that will give you all the HD channels including BBC 4/BBC news and Big centre TV from Birmingham on channel 8.
Failing that your next choice of transmitter is Winter Hill which works quite well in some parts of Telford.Unfortunately this will give you the North West/Granada region...but will give you allthe HD channels etc.
The Wrekin only transmits BBC B,

Mrs Malloy, there are no problems with TV Transmitters at the moment,it is likely that your booster box has become faulty.
This does not always mean that the box is not powered up,the fault lies in the power supply to the box which affects the quality of the digital TV signal.
My name is Chris Burroughs,a local TV Aerial installer and if you wish, you can contact me on 07988539200.Tele-Satt Aerials ltd.

If your in an elevated position then you may be able to receive from Sutton Coldfield, but probably your better option is Winter Hill, if you are in Oswestry itself, that also brodcasts Com 7,but at a much lower power...oh and yes always consult a local Aerial rigger, just like myself....
