Dear Briantist, You were so helpful to me when I had problems with Emley Mast that I venture to ask your help on behalf of a friend. He lives in Ulverston, Cumbria, which as you know has gone digital. He can't get ITV3, Yesterday etc.. Do you have any ideas which might help him?
MANY thanks

for Neil - I have the same system as you in my flat and found out that what I needed was a Y shaped splitter in the socket which had an "in and out" which in my case was in the lounge, then a loop of aerial wire from the splitter to the other socket then the aerial outlet in the bedroom was receiving the same as the lounge. If I am not explaining this well then I'll try again - or perhaps someone else will add to it? good luck. I have had such a lot of help from this site it's great to be able to give even a little bit back.

Neil, hello again! I am so sorry I didn't get to the bottom of this for you...I have a wall socke which says "return" "tv" and fm dab". In the "tv" one I have a splitter - a thing that is roughly Y spaed which pugs into the tv socket and has two outlets for aerials. In one socket goes the aerial for the sitting room. In the other one goes an aerial wire the other end of which goes into "return". THAT goes through to the bedroom socket (through the magic of whatever is already wired in the walls!) and makes the bedroom socket work. The "loop" is just the length of aerial wire which can be as long as you like or as short as will reach from "tv" to "return". Obviously all the male/female ends have to marry up. I do hope this helps you.

Mike, thanks for your comments about my post, but I have NO problems with my splitter - I was trying to assist Neil whose original posting indicated an identical apartment block set up to my own. I do apologise if my non technical postings have caused either you or him any angst or additional confusion. kind regards Penny

Hi - I have freeview and my channel five has also been causing me problems - almost drops, then comes back again. it's not too bad if I watch it live as I can ignore it but if I have set the tape it can be a nightmare and not worth watching. Just sticking in here in the hope that the switchover will sort it all out! Penny (YO10)
PS noted with pleasure some positive feedback to Braintist - you ARE fantastic and make it all so easy for us...well done indeed.
