I just think it would be so much simpler to scrap the licence and let the BBC compete in the market with everyone else. It has always bugged me that I have to pay even if I don't watch.

Im not getting rid of my tv and other equipment because I have Sky TV which I don't mind paying for because I watch most of the programs I am paying for unlike the BBC.

I do use the BBC, regional news, radio and occasional BBC programs. Yes there is only so much advertising revenue to go around and some one has to lose out, market forces, survival of the fittest and all that.

I cant see how they could ever justify £18 a month when sky only charge £21 a month for more than 3 times the channels, goes to show just how of touch with reality Auntie really is!

The best thing about the BBC is its regional news. East midland has won awards for many years. Take it away and you might as well close the BBC. I still think the best option is to scrap the licence fee and make, it's an idea from a bygone era, Compete for there money from advertising and sponsorship and if they go under then tough luck.
