Yes the signal was via a Sky dish, and I should have considered this when the excuse was given by the retailer!
But sometimes you just can't think straight!
Thanks for confirming my suspicions anyway.

The tv is a Samsung and is apparently prone to this 'blinking' problem anyway, as I've recently discovered.
I had to ask the question re signal just to make sure.
I'm wishing I had their excuse in writing as well!
But such is life.
None the less I shall proceed with my claim.
Thanks again for your responses.

Almost forgot!
The reason why I was looking for info on signal interruption was;
if there was any that may have affected none Sky reception it may explain their story that there was interruption, but they failed to realise our signal wasn't terrestrial.
This would provide a direction to the claim, if you see what I mean.

Hi
I'm trying to find out if there were signal interruptions for the Cheshire area during the period August 2011 - August 2012.
The retailer, at the time, stated there were 'ongoing signal interruptions due to maintenance' to deny a fault with our new tv which was 'blinking' ie going black for a second and returning to normal after.
So if I could find any info re no maintenance/interruptions it may help my claim for replacement, as it eventually suffered screen failure and the 'blinking' didn't stop for 3 years.
They stated at the time that others had reported similar 'interruptions' and I obviously fell for their excuse. By the way, I was using sky tv.
Of course if anybody else fell for this excuse I would be delighted to hear from them also!
Thanks.
