Jb 38 thanks for that your second post is more like it there is a sky box in the living room we use at the moment where we subscribe to a package that all works fine the second wire that comes from the dish did work 6 mths ago with the fee sky channels but doesnt seem to work anymore when connecting to the old sky + box. it picks up the box etc but no signal and no channels!
if the next dry day i go to the dish what you are saying is change the wires to see if there is a wire fault or outlet fault? or that particular f connector may be water logged?? im correct in thinking that yes?
if i do all that and im still not receiving a signal what would you recommend?

ive connected another a second sky box to the sat dish for the free channels it worked for 10 mins then when i split the cable it stoped working any ideas! just saying no signal now although the sky hd is working in the living room!

ive removed the splitter and i works again so that was the problem.
can you get more than 4 feeds off the dish then?

yep had a look on ebay about £15 with an adapter for mk2/3/4 dish possibly purchase one of them and some more coax thanks for the help

hi i have a problem im trying to get my old sky + box to work off another tv with no ariel connection so i can get the free sat channels in another room! all of the wires are connected and a card is inserted. but no signal when i 1st moved in 6mths ago there was a signal through this cable!!!! redaing a few posts do you think it maybe a water logged connection? the Sky hd box in the living room works fine!!
