Thanks for all the very useful posts on here.
After cancelling my Skysubscription I recently bought a new TV with built in FreeSatreception and wired the satellite lead directly into the TV (or rather into one of the twin feeds from the dish).
Perfect reception!
Enboldened by this I then put a new feed from the dish (which already had a quad LBN installed by Sky) to a bedroom and put another TV, with Freesat installed, in there. Apart from having to drill thorugh a 450mm thick rendered brick wall it was a relatively simple operation even for an aged non-techie like me:-)
Freesat TV's are more expensive to buy but it does away with need for a separate box.
Can't record programmes of course unless I stick a mempry stick into the TV but I am not that much of a TV fanatic!!
