Hello all,

I'm in the SO30 (Hedge End) area and have had good reception from Rowridge until recently when all COM 5 (ArqA) channels I watch started pixelating and then dropped out. I have tried the full re-install on both the Samsung TV and Sagem HDD recorder without sucess. I have looked for causes of single channel interference but found nothing wrong.

Has anyone else using this transmitter experienced the same problem?

I have recently moved and according to the postcode checker for SO32 2RR am receiving signals from Rowridge. However my loft aerial is pointing approx 45 degrees east of the expected direction. Neighbouring houses with external aerials all seem to be pointing in the "right" direction although with a mix of horizontal and vertical polarisation. My TV signal reception is good except on COM 7 although I can watch these HD channels through a Panasonic recorder. Before I start changing anything can anyone explain why this setup works as normally you only have to be a few degrees off to lose signal.

I want to expand the system with TV points in the bedrooms by adding a masthead amplifier/splitter to the existing aerial if possible. But I don't want to start until I'm clear on where the aerial should be pointing and whether I need to upgrade to an external setup.

I have just retuned my TV and digital recorder following on screen announcements about channel relocation. Now I am not receiving any channels on COM7 but otherwise all appears to be OK. I have tried the freeview reset procedure and am confident that there are no problems associated with the aerial (loft mounted) or cabling. Any comments or suggestions would be most welcome. My postcode is SO32 2RR

I have carried out the tests suggested by StevensOnln1. The digital recorder gives signal strength 5 (out of 10) and signal quality 0 for c31 (554 Mhz). The TV does not appear to have method of measurement other than through channel (name) selection and as these are missing i can't check. A quick flick through the available channels gives signal strengths around 90% and quality 75 - 90+%.
I'm not too concerned about the TV as most of my viewing is through the recorder.

I have carried out a c31 manual retune on both devices which found no additional channels.

StevensOnln1: I have this morning untangled the rats nest behind the TV as per your suggestion and carried out further manual retunes on c31. On the digital recorder 100% success and all missing channels are now restored. On the tv about 50% success, but as I recall the channels still unavailable have always been pretty marginal.

FYI all my HDMI cables are screened but the aerial lead is only single braided. This is a direct feed from the aerial with no intermediate sockets or wall boxes and was already installed in the house. I am planning to relocate the TV and will upgrade to a high quality double braided cable when this is done.

Thanks for your help.
