Basildon
Thank you all for your help. To update you as at 19.08.11. My postcode is in fact SS13 3ND and does say my part of Basildon, Pitsea would be be off with BlueHill. Which I have had a wide band aerial in use. As said before it gave very good service on a the FreeView channels. I also logged the signals of each channel and every one was in the 'High Gain' spot. After July 20 I switched the aerial around to Sudbury, without much i found I was able to in must cases line up to the 'High Gain area, however since then I have now noticed that many of the channel are droping down from 'High' to 'Good' or 'Fair' which in fact 'Fair' did tend to show drop outs in many channels at times. However the general picture/sound was about 90% very watchable. However we are to buy a new Freewiew TV with HD built in it, and not know as HD Ready.
Today I moved the areial towards what i feel is the new Rouncefall, with top rate 'High Gain'on the channels I received. However I feel the areial maywell not be right, as Iwas not able to received BBC1,BBC2, ITV1, Ch4, Ch5. but just about six which was ITV2 +1 , ITV3, BBC Palmen't, 5USA,5STAR,Challage (the quiz TV Station)
I purchesed a new areial locally here in Pitsea which was listed as '32Ele'ments wide band. If I point towards the new TX at Rouncefall should I receive at lese the main 5 channels up to HD standard.
I welcome any replys if anyone can answer. Thank You.

Enjoying your site, it really helps us who don't know too much are this subject. Now come the please help bit, said in a nice way of course.
I live in Pitsea, Basildon just a couple miles passed Basildon in Essex. TV in this part of the country has always been a problem, but its totally poor pictures. Its more 100% great........the only problem, both the ITV and BBC offer top rate local news, and pictures. South and East Essex find the site at BlueBell Hill near Maidstone in Kent give a super service picture and soundwise.........How lots in this part of Essex, from along the Thames Estuary town around Southend, Basildon, Pitsea, towards Clacton all here in Essex.
Question, the site at BlueBell Hill in Kent was first switched around around 1986, and offered a BBC and ITV London area service, which was'nt bad, But here in Essex, The Sudbury service was fair ,not the best out of the three regionals we was able to watch, other being Dover TX. Then overnight in 1983 ? The BlueBell Hill, service switched its programming from London, to South and SouthEast ITV and BBC London at first then a total blackout, its became of the BBC's South and East.........from that time onwards Essex, the River Thames
and all those towns along the thames estuary, Basildon, Southend Clacton, was even heard of the BBCs new SouthEast tv service, lovely picture still.........
The funny part about we heard a few years later, that the people that should know........did'nt know many many and still tv viewers today have to enjoy South East London and Kent news, give a good word to ITV who try to keep our area on the map or two to try to service Essex.
The footnote , to this tale, I think was around the late 1980s, a survey was carried out in North Kent asking people what regional news do you want London or South East............think you can all guess what they hopped for....................Bearing in mind that last part, I would not say it was 100% right, But heck , it would not be wrong to say it anyway.

I live in Pitsea,Basildon Essex about 8miles from Rouncefall TX. At present our post code lists us as Bluebell Hill, Kent TX is our best signal for full service. With Sudbury as the next best, followed by London TX.
My question is at present our Freeview service is from BlueBell Hill, which offer a full service of stations covered. However as I enjoy watching regional news from where I live, the service on offer at present is ITV Med and BBC South East. Both these stations serve well viewers in North Kent, who can enjoy local regional tv on both stations. However us viewers here in Essex are missing out on regional news etc.
So what I need to know will the Rouncefall TX which takens Sudbury be receiveable in Pitsea, using a standard wideband aerial?
I await your answer.
Thank You,
