Below are all of Mike O'Sullivan's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page. Many thanks for the info. I have used "satellite grade" co-ax cable, unbroken length properly terminated with 'F' Connectors, but the length is a factor I'm sure.

Thanks for the addition. I do use a good quality splitter, but not a powered one.

I'd be grateful if you could tell me if Freeview HD is available in my area, or point me to where I could find out. I believe it is but would like to confirm it before investing in an HD box.

Mike O'Sullivan:
Update: Just got my i-can Easy HD 2851t delivered from Amazon. £30 well spent. Yes I can get all available HD channels. One thing puzzles me about the standard definition channels and that's the numbering. The channel numbers are completely different to those on my Freeview TV and the published numbers in the Radio Times. Why is this and where can I find a list of the numbers on the Web?

I have Freeview from Guildford (in Chilworth). Although reception is good on our main set, on a second set my wife sometimes used in another part of the house (at the end of quite a long extension cable through the loft), it's patchy, with a lot of breakup. Is this likely to improve after DSO?, and our aerial being quite old I have been considering replacing it. If I do, what challel group should I get?
Sorry for two questions.
