I have split the signal from my satellite dish and now nothing

I have a Panasonic
freesat
tv, I have two leads from a
sky
dish
(previously had sky+). I have tried plugging one lead into the
satellite
port on the tv but the tv cannot detect it.
Where do I go from here?
