I would just like to say you have my sympathy for the loss of your family member. I know how you feel as this happened to me recently. I would also like to add, and I am sure that this goes for a lot of people out there, that we are very grateful for all the help and advice you give us.

We have a Humax 250g PVR which has worked well until recently. It seems to either miss the first few minutes or the last few minutes of a programme on some stations when set to auto record. There does not appear to be a software update to download. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this please?

I have updated my Humax PVR-9300T today and have now lost a few channels including 11, 12, 17-19, 21,22,24,26,29,31,40-43,46. I have tried updating a few times but they have not come back.
My postdode is SY11 4QD, using the Wrekin transmitter.
Is there anyone else who has lost channels please?

Hi,could any one please advise?
When my PVR is on and recording if someone switches the bathroom light on upstairs it freezes the picture for a second of two and affects the sound which is annoying. it does not seem to do it if I am watching a previously recorded programme. It also happens when the electric toaster pops up in the kitchen. Is there a type of filter I could use. I thought it might be that the aerial wire in the wall is too close to mains circuit.

Hi can somone advise please. If someone switches the bathroom light on up stairs or uses the electric toaster in the kitchen when I am watching or recording a live broadcast, the picture freezes for a second or 2 and the sound is also affected. I thought that the aerial might be too close to the mains wiring in the wall somewhere. I was wondering if there was a special filter to buy to stop this happening. Any Ideas?

Hi Steve P and jb38.
Thanks very much for your feedback and advice, I will try the contact suppressor on the bathroom light switch. It is a pull cord one which is easy to get to.
We bought a new toaster yesterday and that does not affect the TV.
Thanks again,
Paul

jb38 Thanks for your latest advice, especially about the switch being live, I always swith off the circuits from my mains board to be safe. The light is a Flourescent tube. it is a Philips PL-Q 16 Watt Mini tube roughly 6-7 inches in a U shape which turns back in the centre in the shape of a square. I could not see anywhere to connect a suppressor.

Hi Briantist, I asked a question a little while ago about light switches, sockets etc making my TV picture stutter and you kindly pointed me to the Maplin plug bank with surge and mains protection. I have managed to buy one but even with this connected, the problem still seems to be happening. Is there anything else you can think of that I should do to ( apart from moving house) to cure the problem please?
