viv jones: Many thanks for your Reply, I am not too Technical, so hopefully you will bare with me on my replies.
The Model of the TV is Sony KZ-42TS1E. No Tv is Not HD and obviously has No HDMI Lead attached.
re The TV upstairs, this was linked up by a sky engineer when we moved here 3 years ago...not sure what type of cable was used?
No I have not Renamed any Scart input Sockets, this is exactly how tv was installed 3 years ago by sky engineer when he installed sky plus for us..The problems we are now having only began on Christmas Day.
I have had a Sky engineer out to us and he insists that it is the TV at Fault.....obviously I do not want to invest in a New TV should the fault lie elsewhere?...so i am trying to do all the checks prior to spending out a lot of mOney on a new Set...Thankyou for your Help so far.

viv jones: Hi, Many Thanks for your Reply, I have Now Changed over Scart Leads in Different Sockets....Will Watch Tv over the Comming Hours and will advise if Fault appears again.

p.s.......Forgot to mention that i have ruled out LNB being faulty on the Dish as this was Changed when I called Sky out a Couple of Days ago.
If it turns out to be a faulty Box?....would'nt the fault also show on 2nd TV upstairs?...as both TV's run off the Same Box.

Hi.....you are a Star!....I changed the scart leads into different sockets and that has now sorted problem.....it has not gone into fault since Carry out the Change...Well Done.
The only other issue I have now got to try and overcome is when I called out the Sky Engineer to Check if I had a Problem with the Sky plus Box....He went into the TV menu and tried to Re-tune the TV....not sure exactly what but C37 comes to mind....anyway since then I get a Buzzing noise on the TV especialy Noticable when Bring up the Sky Menu to Change Channels, also the picture is not as sharp as it use to be....I am thinking the sky may not be tuned into the TV properly.....would you have any thoughts on this?

Many thanks for your Reply, Pressed Mute Button and Buzzing Stops...Noise Definately comming from Speakers, Tried Changing Contrast From Medium to Low...but no Difference.
I will Purchase New Scart Lead Tomorrow and Follow your Last instructions.....Is there a Type of Scart Lead you would Recommend?
Could it be that the Sky is Not tuned in properly to the TV?....as Engineer did adjust certain settings on the install, but I am not sure how to check this?

Many Thanks for your Advice....everything now OK....cleaned Scart Lead Sockets and Buzz has Now Cleared...you certainly Know your Stuff!.
Just a Quick Observation of one previous comment.
My picture has allways suffered from Light Ghosting most Noticable when watching football etc....I have No Trees or obsticles near Dish...so is it your Thoughts I should invest in a New Scart Lead anyway? ( it is Not the Thin Cheap one you would get on a Market Stall)

Thanks for your Reply....I have Checked and System is Set to RGB Not Pal and sky box is plugged into No 1 Socket....so maybe worth investing in a couple of New Scart Leads?

Hi,
Can you please advise....I have a Sony Plasma TV which has been working fine for the last 3 years...also conected to it is a sky plus box and dvd Player, anyway the problem i now have is a intermittant fault, screen goes blank for a few seconds during this time the words SAT 1 comes on the screen as well as NO SYNC, this can happen up to 10/20 times in the space of 30 mins, it tends to happen after the TV has been on for a few hours, I have a TV upstairs conected to the sky box and when the above fault happens it is not Repeated on the TV upstairs....so I have ruled out a fault with the sky box...could it be scart lead problems? or do you think my TV has a Problem?
