Thanks for the swift reply, changed channel from 63 to c21.
Closer consideration would reveal the signal weakness is similar to some sort of interface, but thanks for your help anyway.

Thanks for the reply again.
I do have a rooftop aerial connected to the box downstairs only for purposes of having freeview along with sky upstairs so maybe that's affecting the signal as you said. I may consider the possibility of avoiding receiving signal via the sky box and receive freeview direct to the upstairs TV.
Thanks again

One more thing, am I right in saying a viewing card will arrive in the post for my new box or am I missing something and need to contact Sky?

I think I have sorted out the problem. I had forgotten what I did when I first set up the TV link years and years ago, but it seems the coax lead between the sky box and the second TV wasn't one lead, it was actually three leads, all connected at two points on the line with connectors. I gave the connectors a twist and the quality did improve, a bit of a bad install but I have now resolved the problem.

Just one more question,
in regards to my next door neighbour, the RF2 socket on their sky box is broken (as it is a very old box), so is it possible to buy a scart RF adapter and run the coax from the adapter?

jb38:
Only the RF2 socket.
RF1 would be used for the main television next to the sky box, and the scart would be used for the lead to the second TV (via the RF modulator).
Am I right in saying though that there will be no power for the TV link?

My apologizes for not making it clear ...
It's physical damage to the socket that is the problem (it isn't circle shape anymore)
Thanks anyway

He has stated on this page above the map that the maps do not include aerial positioning and terrain interception.
