There doesn't appear to be any reported transmitter problems. Assuming your aerial is still pointed in the correct direction and your downlead hasn't become faulty, it might be worth checking your coax connections between the aerial socket and TV.
There is some "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation. It's been affecting various parts of the UK at different times and is currently affecting the west of GB and It can be quite variable, come and go within seconds, minutes or hours. At times it can wipe out your reception.
You are not advised to retune when you have lost signals or they are badly pixellated as this usually just clears correct tuning and you have to repeat a retune when signals are stable. You may have to repeat a retune several times if signals are still disrupted.

Not sure what the purpose of your question is! Internet Access for you or the transmitter, to what point?
We wouldn't know if there were any local wifi hotspots.
The Ardintoul transmitter is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible service interruptions". If you retuned at all when you had no signal (not normally advised), it will likely have just cleared the correct tuning and you'll have to repeat the retune when signals are normal. You may have to try several times.

There doesn't appear to be any currently listed faults for the Redruth transmitter although there was one on the 24th where the transmitter was briefly off air due to a fault in the early hours.

It can be quite variable, come and go within seconds, minutes or hours. It doesn't necessarily affect all multiplexes at the same time or at all. At times it can wipe out your reception.

If you have continuing problems please post back with more detail and a full postcode so that we can look at predicted reception at your location.

There are also periods when there is transmitter maintenance where signals may be weaker or off-air.
You are not advised to retune when your normal signals are suddenly missing or they are badly pixellated as this usually just clears correct tuning and you have to repeat a retune when signals are stable. You may have to repeat a retune several times if signals are still disrupted.
For which channels are on which multiplex see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview
If it's just one multiplex missing, you can try a manual retune for the particular UHF channel for that multiplex for your transmitter (will vary from transmitter to transmitter).

This is more likely to be down to a problem with your Internet connection. Have you checked out the connection speed and checked your phone line for any audible noise?

People in different parts of the UK and Europe have been experiencing problems. The conditions should currently have cleared.

I guess a different js from our regular poster in these parts. It does sound like a problem with the communal installation. Have you had any high winds which may have damaged or moved the aerial, or power interruptions that could affect the distribution system.?

Well the signals from Winter Hill should be blowing your windows out! I assume from what you say, the aerial engineer has said the signal arrives at your coax plug at the back of the TV?
If not, and he's only checked to an aerial socket wall plate, then you need to check/try another flylead between the wall-plate and direct to the TV - not via any other equipment.
If you have other equipment eg. a PVR/DVR is that playing back to your TV? Is it recording and can then playback to your TV? If both of those are true then it suggests your TV's tuner may be locked up or faulty. Have a look through the menus and find a "Reset" (usually to factory settings) the see if you can set it all up again and tune the channels.
If you still have issues after that, post back with details about the various checks and any other equipment.
