The Humax unit worked perfectly well up until last years retunes with good reception on all channels but since then the reception on various channels (including QVC, Yesterday and Channel 5 + 1 to name a few) is terrible with the picture and sound breaking up. Sometimes the picture is so bad its unwatchable and I often receive a screen message saying there is nothing being broadcast on the channel or its being scrambled. (I also own a Samsung DVD Recorder which is connected to the same TV and reception on ALL channels is good. My aerial is approximately 3 years old and is fitted with a booster.) Unfortunately Im not very technical so please can you offer some advice. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks & kind regards,
Wendy Leak

Hi, I receive TV from the Waltham transmitter (post code - NG31 7FJ) and retuned my Humax Freeview box as instructed by the onscreen message on the 19th September. However, Im still receiving the onscreen message and if I dont click on later the box automatically retunes but not to the strongest signal channels, e.g. East Midlands. I would be very grateful for any advice. Many thanks & kind regards, Wendy

Hi, I hate retuning my freeview box because something always goes wrong! Yesterday I carried out a manual retune as per Humax instructions and found afterwards that MUX C57 did not detect any channels including 4seven (47) and Ideal World (22). Can anyone help please? Many thanks & kind regards, Wendy

Hi, With receiving a signal from the Waltham transmitter I had to retune on Wednesday 29 May; however, Ive had a problem retuning and hope you can help:
When I carry out an automatic search for channels on some channels the picture/sound breaks up making it impossible to watch, e.g. channels 16, 44 and 47. But when I carry out a manual search using numbers (or "MUX's") as follows: 61, 54, 29, 56, and 57 (DVB-T) and for HD channels 58 (DVB-T2) I cant receive BBC1 and BBC2.
I follow the instructions for automatic searching in the Humax manual and follow the instructions for a manual search as provided by Humax Technical & Customer Support Services sometime ago.
My postcode is NG31 7FJ. Your advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks & kind regards, Wendy Leak

Thanks to everyone's advice - I'll try a manual search using 49 instead of 61. Thanks again all.

I'm sorry to keep asking for help but I need advice yet again ... Ive had to retune (Waltham transmitter) and have to carry out a manual retune on my Humax HDR-FOX T2 because an automatic retune gives me channels that break up and are North instead of East Midlands. However, I'm still receiving an onscreen message re the retune asking if I want to carry out a retune 'Now' or 'Later'.
The message appears every time I switch on, change channels or when I stop a recording. I have to be vigilant because if I don't catch the message and highlight 'Later' and press OK it automatically starts doing an automatic search.
Humax suggested I carry out an automatic retune by clicking on Now, save and then carry out a manual retune but unfortunately this didnt work.
Any advice would be gratefully received thanks.

jb38: Many thanks for your advice but I did carry out a factory default retune as advised by Humax. It looks like I've got to live with the message.

Hi Brian, I live in Lincolnshire and bought a Samsung DVD Recorder a couple of months ago. However, I had to retune the unit on 30 March and only manaaged to find between 0 to 15 channels although I've carried out many autoscans since. I follow the autoscan instructions but to no avail. Please help. Many thanks, Wendy
