Can I use my ex-contract sky digital satellite receiver to get

My mother has a
Sky
digibox
on which she cancelled the contract after my father passed away.
The
card
is still in the box.
She can now only see a few
channels
on it (mostly BBC) but not her local ITV channel (STV).
Q 1. Should she be able to see all FTA and/or some FTV channels with her current setup or does she need to get a new
freeview
box?
Q 2. If she needs a new freeview box, can this use the existing
satellite
dish
and
cable
.
