Just out of interest what do the + and - signs mean on some of the channel numbers listed in the Transmission Frequencies above please.

I live in CM2 and have two STBs and one tv with built-in freeview. They all get their signal via a loft aerial and 4 way booster. Up until the latest channel change I was getting a good signal on all TVs and all MUXs. Since the latest change one of the STBs refuses to find ch63, both the other two TVs are fine. I can only conclude from this that the problem lies within that particular STB, perhaps that's the issue with other contributors?

Dave Lindsay:
It's not really an issue as the STB in question is in the spare room. All my cable runs are new WF100 and the STB is still reporting good or very good signal/quality on all the other MUXs. From memory the STB cost me the princely sum of £10 so I can't really complain, it was more a case of providing feedback on the channel change.

In simple terms what do these changes actually mean please?

Mike Cant: As I previously explained I had the same issue (as do many others by the sound of it) I got over the problem by moving the receiver in question to a TV point that was closer to the aerial and therefore getting a slightly better/stronger signal. The re-tune found the missing channels and then I moved the receiver back to it's original location. This worked! but now and again the picture is a bit flakey on ch63
Hope this helps.

Thanks Aaron, It's strange that some of you guys are having these problems, I'm in CM2 (which actually shows as outside the best reception on the map above) and receive all Mux's via a loft aerial. Just hope I don't regret saying that!

Think you're correct Vernon, it was on C50 until the last change. I'm sure the site administrators will note this and update when they have time. There's probably loads of changes happening at the moment and won't settle down until mid 2012, then we can all enjoy perfect Freeview! In the meantime you can always double check the channel numbers on the digitaluk site

Stephen: I agree with all the above, in addition I would suggest as fewer connections as possible between the aerial and TV. To this extent, where possible, I have the aerial lead coming directly out of the wall into the TV. This avoids the possibility of the lead being kinked in the aerail socket wall box. This approach is ideal where a wall mounted flat screen TV is used.

A query, just out of interest.
I'm receiving all Mux's loud and clear (lucky me some may say!) However the signal strength and quality shows roughly the same across the board, even though some are transmitted with up to 100 times greater power than others. Do the freeview receivers have some kind of compensator built-in to allow for this difference?
