The work at Black Hill is a series of activities aimed at bring better coverage with the possibility of more channels in the future. It is NOT one long period of work but small steps on an approximately weekly intervals, most of the tasks being completed within one day for each engineering activity.
The same is already being done on some other 'main' transmitters and is in prepartion for future changes and enhancements.
Patience is a virtue in these times.

Have you asked if your neighbours are having the same difficulties? If they are and are using Freeview from the same transmitter then that would need investigating. Do you have many trees or hills nearby between you and the transmitter? If they are not then your equipment may have developed a fault. Start by checking all the signal wiring from the aerial into the TV set, including any STBs in use.
Regarding Freesat, you do NOT need a second or third dish! Most dishes are not installed with a quad output LNB (the small box on the outside end of the arm in front of the dish surface). This can feed at least two separate TVs and/or STBs. If you need to feed signal to further equipment you can have the LNB changed to an octal output type that can feed at least 4 sets of equipment.
Note that to install a second or subsequent dish you will need to obtain planning permission from your local planning authority. Some are reluctant to give such permission. That option is the most expensive way of achieving your desired result.

Then you have a fault within your system as you have had previously.

Check for local sources of interference, such as time switches. Also check with your neighbours whether they have the same problem and whether they have a time switch set to operate at that time. Do you have a switch set at that time?
There is no known fault with the transmitter else thousands of people would have the same problem.

Thanks for the feedback. It's always a pleasure to hear 'normal service' has been restored and the household is happy again. Have a great day.

Gartley Moor is apparently operating correctly with no notified engineering works shown.
Check with your immediate neighbours who use Freeview from Gartley Moor to see if they have the same problem. If they don't, then you have an equipment or cabling problem. If they do have the same problem then please report it to the broadcaster.

Please tell the broadcaster that directly. This website is for technical assistance for those having reception problems.

That again suggests your equipment is getting too much or too little signal on the affected multiplexes - as happened previously. You really must check the actual signal strength reported by your equipment on the affected signals and report back here so we may be able to suggest possible solutions. Without that information and your full post code (to check the transmission and reception conditions at your locality) it is impossible to offer any assistance.

To help you we need to know where you are in relation to the transmitters serving your area. It seems likely that the retune has picked up signals from a different transmitter to the one you previously used. If you could check what channel numbers the various multiplexes are being received on that will help us advise you further.

Cathy Bowen:
To answer your question we need to know where you live by giving a post code so we can check which transmitter you might be using and whether you are within the reception patter for the local multiplex that might carry the service - not all transmitters carry it and not all areas served from any such can receive the signal.
