Does your new aerial point roughly west of south or east of north? The former is aimed at Huntshaw Cross, so you may actually have too much signal with a high gain UHF aerial and a booster/splitter. If it is in the latter direction, there is big hill in the way that is highly likely to cause problems!

BTW, there is no such thing as a 'digital aerial', all UHF aerials can receiveFreeview transmissions whether they are called 'digital' or not. Aerials do not differ merely because the carrier (multiplex) is conveying digital or analogue content. Aerials have to be of the correct 'Group' for the wanted transmitter or a wide band design.

Hi Briantist

Tonight I have had unusal problem trying to view several pages on your site. It appears to be related to some 'rogue' code that appears above any content that does display. The code is:

[redacted]

Could you investigate please?

Thanks

It would be useful if we could set this map to show other areas, please. I'm shortly moving to Trowbridge, Wiltshire and know there is supposedly a DAB service from 'Westwood' but can't tell what the reception will be like as not shown on this map based around Luton.
Thanks

I've found the page you refer to.

I don't understand the references to Medway and Kent, Trowbridge is the County Town of Wiltshire!

Sadly the mapping shows a DAB transmitter in central Bath but there is a huge hill between there and Trowbridge so we are unlikely to get much in the way of DAB signals it seems. I prefer FM anyway, sounds much better on decent equipment.

Hi Briantist

I clicked on a link ( Are you using Freeview? (page 79) | ukfree.tv - helping the UK with free TV reception since 2002 7) but it took me to the Knowledge base instead of a page containing amessge/enquiry from Steve Hill shown on the emails as "Steve HiI have two TVs connected to one " . Is there some problem with navigation after your recent work?

Thanks

It would help if you gave your post code (or one of a nearby shop) so we could work out approximately where you are and which transmitters might be receivable at your location. Not all transmitters in the Bristol area carry the Made in Bristol signals.

In Limasol, it is unlikely that you will receive any usable signals from the Astra satellites at orbital position 28.2 East. Looking at the maps at the top of this page, none of the beams get anywehre near Cyprus, not even the 1.2 metre plot. You may manage some signals with a 2.5 metre dish ground mounted but that will be quite expensive and may not get much if anything.
To find whgere your dish should point, see Gone Digital | How to set up a satellite dish for a clear description. I have calculated that in Limasol to receive from Astra at 28.2 East, you dish must be aimed at an angle of 188.4 degrees relative to true North (or at 184.18 degrees relative to magnetic North), with an elevation (upward tilt) of 49.35 degrees (but allow for any offset) with the LNB at a skew angle of 7 degrees. Note that your dish must point slightly WEST of south and not 28 degrees east of south. (BA147HQ)

I watched Jamaica Inn and found the sound terrible and very hard to listen to the dialogue.

But why would I want to telephone the Guardian Newpaper about a technical/artisitic/transmission problem experienced on a BBC channel? I assume the rpoort mentioned was carried by that newspaper (otherwise jokingly referred to as 'The Grauniad').

Briantist:

I put in the new post code and got a page saying "Here are the results: Please try again!" So not very helpful I'm afraid.
