Peter K - surprised you need an aerial at all, unless in a hollow in the ground behind a big building or something.

Do you need one for analogue?

Try your new TV with a set-top aerial only. Or a wire coat hanger.

If you put your postcode in top right there is much useful info linked.

Can't help thinking the start date is probably wrong?

Who knows - but probably they were rearranging an aerial or changing something round, or mending a bust bit.

tony - unless you tell us where you are - no idea.

But once digital switch over takes effect your old TV will not tune any channels, because analogue will be switched off - you will need a cheap set-top box. Assuming your TV has a SCART socket.

What does "around" mean in that context?

Brian - I think people often think your splendid website is "official"

They could do it like the coffee pot?

I have been reflecting on local TV since this thread started.

I think I probably - or at least posssibly - WOULD drop into a local TV station, even though I don't listen to local radio; preferring R4.

Regional TV is not much use if you live in North Wales, as it is mostly about South Wales - literally at the other side of the mountains.

Or I can watch NW region - but that covers a huge area.

Though on Freeview I can only get Central. I have no interest whatsoever in the midlands. Never been there except in transit.

BUT these proposals will give us Liverpool. Which is worse still.

Helen - according to the above you have a chance from Dunkeld - Vertical aerial. Is that what you are trying?

An aerial engineer really ought to be able to inform you if he knows his job.
