Brian: Good luck with whatever you decide. However, I'm sure your knowledge and experience will continue to be invaluable to all of us, especially in May and June of his year.

Slow down a bit Brian, you're too young to burn yourself out and we all need your expertise. :-)

Steve: My Humax 9300T has an inbuilt Co-ax tester which alerts you if you have a short in the aerial circuit.I'm guessing that your newer model will also have this feature so perhaps you can eliminate this as contributing to the fault.Have you by any change workmen or gardeners using Two Stroke Power Tools nearby today? This can sometimes give intermittent interference. BIt of a long shot but I get that here sometimes.

Steve: If you have reverted to your original set up configuration, including the original fly lead, prior to introducing the HDMI Switch/Box. Can you, whilst leaving the TV switched on; switch off the Humax using the rocker switch at the rear of the box; leave it for a couple of minutes and switch it on again. The Screen with show you the Humax fire up sequence and any coax short circuit before showing the last channel viewed.Failing that a complete factory reset might clear things but if you do this you will lose any listed recording schedules( NOT your recordings just the schedules). Of course you may have already done this.

Kevin: I assume you performed a factory default reset prior to scanning. Yesterday I retuned a number of Freeview receivers; SEGs, LGs and Humax all trouble free but collecting a few extra channels on the 800 section. An old Thomson DVR took three attempts before successfully catching the BBC Channels you mention. I also noticed that the transmission on the 46 Mux is much stronger as of yesterday so if you are using an amplifier that may not be helping. Some BBC Radio Channels disappeared when Alba started transmitting but I notice they were back again early this morning. I think this was notified earlier. it's all a bit new so I guess reception may vary till after the 22nd at which time I trust things will be more stable. Hope this helps.

Linda: From memory I think there is a " Reinstallation-Reset"
option on Sagem boxes. Try under Advance Box Settings in the Manual and Box Settings > Reset in the Sagem Screen Menu. Hope this helps.

Brian: I'm considering acquiring a DAB Radio to compensate for the reduced radio service on Freeview caused by the BBC's insistence in forcing BBC Alba on us. From the notes on the Sergeant Law DAB Transmitter, I can't see Radio 4 Extra which wold be the main reason for buying the DAB radio. Do you know if Radio4 Extra is available here or have I missed something?
Thanks and regards,
Iain.

Brian: Just to tidy this off. I was at the local Supermarket this morning and whilst there I picked up a DAB Radio for £25. No frills and as you would expect nothing special but it works quite well and '4 Extra' is now back with me on demand which will do nicely till they re-think the Alba situation. Thanks again for your help.
