I notice that after the re-tune on 19th there is no provision for COM7 or Com8. What will happen to the stations that are broadcast on these frequencies after 19th, and when exactly does the move happen. At midnight (00.01) or some unknown time during the day.

I live in Rainham, up towards Wigmore, and on Thursday morning at about 09.45 I did a re-tune on my Panasonic TV and two Humax PVR and had no problem. My aerial is a old, and cheap Wide band aerial that has always given good reception, even when digital was transmitted along analogue and the digital transmitter was running at 20% of the power of analogue. Given that, and the fact that now after the "change" most of the multiplexes are using the same, or very close frequencies, I don't see why people are talking about a new aerial of a different band!
For those with Panasonic PVR's (or any other box of tricks including TV's) that are having problems, can I ask if you've tried unplugging the aerial and doing a re-tune (this will/should clear the memory) then re-connect the aerial and do a new re-tune.
Freeview from Bluebell Hill is still using channels 32, 34, 40,43, 45 and 46 as before, only for a different multiplex and this may confuse your Panasonic box.

Can I suggest that you look at the signal strength for the programmes that are suffering weak or no signal. This may sound a bit daft but when you find the facility within the menu for monitoring signal strength it will also show what channel you're receiving the program on. Bluebell Hill is transmitting PSB1 on channel 32, PSB2 on 34, PSB3 on$%, COM4 on40, COM5 on 43 COM6 on 46, COM7 on 55 and COM 8 on 56, NOT as listed above (it's about three months out of date) but the programs are still transmitted on the same PSB or COM. The reason I make this suggestion is because I had a similar problem with weak or no signal on some station and when I investigated further I found that although I had selected KENT for my prefered transmitter my PVR had decided to save COM6 and 8 from London, not Bluebell Hill, resulting in the "Weak signal" or "No signal". For you it maybe other than London, perhaps Anglia or Tunbridge. To overcome this problem I selected all the programs transmitted on COM6 and 8, deleted them and did a manual re-tune on those two COM's. I hope this helpful. Incidentally, I too had no problem with my TV, only the PVR.

All this talk about too stronger a signal is a puzzle to me. The manufactures of TV's and set top boxes have no idea where there equipment is going to be installed, either a couple of hundred meters from a powerful transmitter or miles away from one. So why would they not put a limiting circuit in the front end. I used to work in the avionics industry and limiting circuit were used back in 60's when it involved transistors, transformer, chokes, resistors and capacitors. Today it would just be one small micro circuit costing just pence on the scale of manufacture required. Also earlier post talk about "no signal" and "weak signal" messages. I too have had that problem and I solve it by changing from HD to SD. I think HD is a big con unless you have a very large TV. Which? say that you probably won't see any improvement in picture quality until you get to a screen size of 40in and above

If the pole is on "your" land the pole owner would have had to come to an agreement with the landowner (presumably you) and you both would have had to sign a contract. That would give them right of access for installation and maintenance and would state what annual payment they would make in return. But if that agreement was made with a previous owner you may not be aware of it, although it should have been passed to you as the new owner. (The original owner may still be getting the payment due to you!) On the other hand if you are renting the property the agreement will be with the landlord and you should contact him.
