peter : At the time of purchasing TV, did you opt to pay the extra for the "magic" remote and also the Bluetooth dongle that matches it? as the pointer facility will not work with the standard remote.

Of course that is "if" you are referring to this feature?

peter: Unfortunately, my hands are somewhat tied at this present time by not having access to the full manual, but have a study at the 3rd and 4th down in the link under the help library section and see if this sheds any light on the matter.

Steve: Both CBS Action (LCN64) and the Horror channel (LCN70) are broadcast on COM6, which on the Whitehawk Hill transmitter is C48.

By the way, March 13th is indicated as the starting date for the Horror Channel.

Steve: Well, according to UK DTT's latest update on March 9th (link for below) they are being broadcast on Whitehawk Hills COM6 / C48.

Maybe the reason for them not being seen under the above mentioned COM6 is simply down to Briantist not having managed any time to update the list? as Vintage TV (242) is still under COM5 rather than COM4.

The question is, are you able to view any other programmes on Whitehawk's COM6 such as 4Music (18) or yesterday (19)?, if though you can, then have you tried "resetting" the TV or box prior to carrying out a retune? the resetting procedure also known as "manufacturers reset" / "default setting" / "first time installation" or similar name.

MikeP / (Mazbar) : I feel that the confusion surrounding the issue of analogue reception on these LB580V models is basically down to the fact of this mode not being specifically mentioned in either the set menu, or indeed the manual, even although the model "is" capable of analogue reception, as verified today by LG's technical department.

I think that the secret of successfully storing an analogue channel is for the analogue source to be there in the first place, as mentioned by Mazbar, i.e: coupled into the Sky boxes RF1/2 output socket (or I.O. port modulator) and with said Sky box (or modulator) switched on and outputting a signal.

The second stage being "not" to select any particular mode to scan, as doing so would then restrict the box from going through the "full" scanning mode which includes analogue tuning, albeit that this mode, or anything received in same, is only revealed (TV/ Radio button) once something has been captured.

Ash : Although many somewhat loathe having to resort to this measure, but your best policy would to make one or two enquiries with others in your immediate vicinity for the purpose of determining if the problem is also being experienced by other viewers, or, that its confined purely to your own installation.

Because if others are also being affected, then the problem is totally outwith your control.

Gilbert: The question has to be, help with what problem? although should you be referring to any type of erratic reception? then advice can only be given with knowledge of your location, this preferably being in the form of a post code or one from nearby, e.g: a shop / post office, this info being required in order to access details of the transmitter covering the area you happen to reside in.

If though you are referring to channels missing? then carry out a "factory reset" followed by a retune on whatever device you are using.

charlie : Try disconnecting it from the mains supply for 3 or 4 minutes before powering it up again, however, should this procedure fail to rectify the problem, then I am afraid that your box has developed an internal fault of a nature that can only be described as terminal, that is, unless its still under guarantee?

You should also check that the batteries in the remote control are still OK.

Stephen: Although not being listed as yet on the Mux programme list at the top of this page , these two programmes (CBS 64 / Horror 70) are broadcast on Mux6, which on Oxford is Mux C55/ 746mhz.

You will of course have to carry out a retune, if not already having done so.

hannah: Advice on reception problems can only be given with knowledge of a persons location, i.e: a post code or one from nearby, such as a shop / post office.

Other information required being: do you have your own aerial? or are you connected into a communal distribution system such as used in apartment blocks?
