Richard Caine: A Freesat box cannot do that anymore than a Sky box can either, albeit that a Sky box has an RF modulator than can feed an analogue signal "of the programme being viewed" to analogue TV in another room, a Freesat box does not have this facility.

Jeff Gilbert: What make / model of TV do you have? but if you look at the programme EPG listings and do not see 50 - 54 mentioned then the TV's tuner has ignored the HD signal because its not DVB-T2 capable.
Have a look at your TV's user manual / specifications / tuner, and if you see DVB-T mentioned your set is not capable of picking up an HD signal, as it has to be DVB-T2.
Are you sure the TV isn't advertised as "HD Ready"? as all that means is it can show an HD picture from an external device.

Danny W: Its extremely unlikely that anything had changed except for the possibility that your dish (or LNB fixing) has been very slightly knocked out of alignment, and a difference that's so slight that no-one, even an engineer, could possibly notice on looking at the dish.
Just to exclude the possibility of any surge having done a mischief to your box (unlikely as it is) swap the "F" inputs plugs over and see if input No1 starts working again, albeit No2 possibly wont!

DaveH: On checking the reception predicted for your area I see that although the BBC transmissions are shown as being reasonable ITV certainly isn't, with it being in the category of being variable and remaining that way until April 18th.
The signal will of course still likely be there, but has just dropped to under the reception threshold for your equipment through possibly normal atmospheric changes, so if you haven't tried a re-scan (which will have wiped it from the EPG list) try selecting ITV (albeit the screen might be blank) and go into the TV / boxes tuning menu / signal check screen to see what level its sitting at, noting what's shown, then do the same on BBC to compare them with each other.
You could though just carry out a factory re-set to scrub everything stored then follow that by manually tuning in Mux Ch22, then if ITV comes in OK use the "add channels" or whatever your set calls it to recover the remaining muxes. My reason for suggesting this procedure being that a TV or box will sometimes pick up and lock onto a signal that's manually tuned in, where in many cases it wont during a auto-scan.
If though as would be expected the ITV signal is quite a bit lower than the BBC, then the only way to lift it is by using a booster in line with the aerial socket.

Kim: Yes! you can use the old Sky box to receive "free to view" channels with no problem provided the dish was working when the previous owners left it. The only point to note though is that you will not be able to receive Pick TV without a Sky card and the news services will be defaulted to London, likewise adverts, otherwise you do not require a card for normal viewing.

Stuart: You should check to ensure that the TV with the problem is actually receiving from Sutton Coldfield and not Waltham, as its indicated as being possible at your location, the way to tell being to select EPG 1 (BBC) and go into the signal check menu and observe the Mux channel number shown, which if Ch43 is indeed Sutton
whereas if Ch61 is Waltham, you could check ITV as well whilst you are at it, Sutton being Ch46 and Waltham Ch54.
If though EPG1 has vanished from the list then carry out a factory re-set followed by a re-scan and see what the results are.

DaveH: Meant to also add, that should you go along the booster route then it would likely become redundant in April 18th when the transmitter concerned moves from 20kw to 200Kw as in theory this will cure numerous peoples problems, except that is possibly for some that's went over the top in upgrading their aerial systems, as they will most likely find it necessary to fit attenuators to rectify signal over load problems.

Danny W: Unfortunately no, as that would then indicate that the box No1 input was defective, that is "if" you checked that No2 input did have an operational signal on it which vanished when it was changed over to No1's input.
I would be inclined to reset the box again.

Bob: It should not be necessary if its only that you intend to do, but as you will probably already realise you will not be able to use the recording side of the box, and this includes playback, as Sky effectively retains control of that side of it.

ross walker: The second TV will not pick up Freeview unless you are in a Freeview reception area and have a normal aerial feeding into the Sky box aerial input socket, as the Freeview signal will pass through the Sky box and out the RF2, then travel along your extension cable and into the second TV, and which has to be a Freeview capable TV and not an analogue only one. (albeit this OK for the Sky boxes RF2 signal)
But though, if the second TV is Freeview capable it has to be set on "analogue" to pick up the RF2 signal from the Sky box, as its not a digital signal.
In other words, the cable is carrying a digital Freeview signal as well as an analogue one from the Sky box and you having to set the second TV accordingly or it wont pick one or the other up, this aspect being the area I think you are going wrong in.
