Rj Brambling: If you move the Freeview PVR that you are presently using into the bedroom then you will have to extend the aerial from the living room into the bedroom using the RF out (loop through) socket on your new box, that is should it be fitted with this facility, if not then this can successfully be achieved with the aid of a two way powered splitter unless you reside in an area where the signal is strong then a "passive" (non amplified) splitter is suffice, but no matter what type is used the aerial is connected into the splitters common input and with the two boxes being connected into each respective output.
The two boxes will not interfere with each other as they are not working in tandem but independently of each other.

Ste: You could be receiving Freeview from either Emley Moor or Sheffield as the levels predicted are very similar, but you should carry out a signal strength test on Emley Moors BBC mux Ch47, this done by going into your TV or boxes tuning menu / manual tune and entering Ch47 but NOT followed by pressing search or scan, because the strength / quality the signal is being received at should be indicated, if though nothing be seen then try Ch44 Emley's ITV noting the result.
If no indications are seen on either then try Sheffield's BBC on Ch27, then Ch24 (ITV) giving an update on results.
By the way if you are using a Sony this procedure might not be successful.

Monica : What model of Toshiba are you using? my reason for asking being that most Toshiba's I have seen offers a manual tune option in the set up menu.
It would also be of assistance if a post code had been given, or at least one from somewhere nearby such as a shop or post office, because a test code (CH45 area) tried out was not recognised.

Lisa Vanderstreaten: When your DVD-VCR recording set menu is being viewed on the TV make sure that AV1 is selected as the "source input" otherwise it will try to record from its own internal tuner, this being the default setting.
By the way you may have to do this each time you want to record, because when the recorder is turned off it will revert back to its internal tuner.

J Whyman: Ch4 is on the same mux transmitter as ITV1 / Ch5 etc, and so prior to carrying out an auto-tune you should carry out a "factory reset" on the box, this also called "default setting" or "first time installation" dependant on brand, as the box has to be completely cleared of anything stored before any further retunes are carried out.

M Horrocks: This indicates that when you carried out the auto-tune your TV's tuner has bypassed the SDN mux, and although the missing mux could have been manually tuned in I am unable to advise on the channel number to enter by being unaware of your post code, therefore its best that you carry out an auto tune "with the aerial disconnected" to wipe out that already stored, then follow this by carrying out a second retune after having reconnected the aerial.

Ron Fletcher: Showcase 1 & 2 as far as Freesat reception is concerned anyway is on EPG 400 & 402 on the frequency you mentioned including SR 27500 but its uses H polarity not V.

Peter: This could possibly be caused by the common reason of a box having picked up more channels than its memory capacity can store hence they are lost every time the box is switched off.
To make sure that nothing is stored go into the boxes set up menu and look for either factory reset / default setting / first time installation and press on whatever is seen, then after completion of same carry out another auto-tune.

Lisa Vanderstreaten: Well its not really selecting an input "channel" as such but telling the DVD - VCR to use the AV2 "input socket" for recording.
However if your recorder also has a "Freeview" tuner and not analogue (which was assumed applied) then there is not really any point in trying to record from your TV as the programmes are the same, and so you will require the aerial to be connected into recorder as well as the TV.
As far as the scart is concerned, you now only require one scart connection between the AV1 on the recorder and likewise on the TV.

Norman: Changing the boxes RF modulator channel can sometimes help a cases where the picture tends to be a bit grainy, me personally using Ch68, but though it does have to be admitted that some Sky HD boxes are known to suffer from this as a result of having low output modulators, and so your complaint isn't exactly uncommon.
That said, other factors can cause this such as a long cable run between the box and the TV or a less than perfect coupling if the cable is joined anywhere, but the best way to verify which applies is to temporarily sit the remotely positioned TV near to the Sky box and use a jumper lead between each, remembering to use the Sky boxes RF1 output.
By the way if a long cable run is responsible, then this is usually cured by using a simple booster in line between both devices, this preferably sited near to the Sky box.
