John: If Drama (programme guide 20) is not being indicated then rather than carrying out a retune go into the programme channels "edit" menu and delete GOLD which might still be indicated in 20, follow this by going into your TV's tuning menu then enter and scan Ch43, as sometimes this will rectify the problem because as Dave Lindsay has said Drama is on the same multiplex as ITV3.
If though your TV has an "update channels" facility then you could just use that, remembering that Mux Ch43 is used by Drama.

ROERT BARNFIELD: You are NOT paying for something that doesn't work, as the programme channels referred are not connected any way with the licence fee as they are being broadcast for profit making purposes paid for by the advertisers, and the only reason you were able to receive these channels in your previous location was simply because that the advertisers had calculated that the returns expected from the number of households within the transmitters coverage area would greatly exceed the contribution they have to make towards the running costs of the service.
This on course being the reverse in areas of lower population such as your own hence why they are not being transmitted.

John: In that case you should carry out a fresh retune and see if that brings results, if though it doesnt then this could suggest that there is a problem with your aerial system.
If though your TV has a manual tuning facility you could try a signal test check by selecting the tuning menu / manual tune and entering Ch55 (BBC) but NOT followed by pressing search or scan, because if any signal is being received but is maybe under the level required to produce a picture, then its strength / quality will still be indicated as cut off thresholds do not exist with this type of check, if nothing is being indicated then you either have a problem with your aerial system (or cable from) or your receiving equipment has developed a fault.
But though in cases like yours its always advisable to make one or two local enquiries for the purposes of eliminating any possibility that factors external to your household are responsible for the problem, such as interference etc.
By the way, you are indicated as being located at approximately 2 miles away from the transmitter (located in business Park) and with a clear line-of-sight to it.

Glenn : Much as I can fully understand many peoples reluctance into having to do this, but when dealing with problems such as erratic reception a person really has to determine as to whether or not they are the only one that's being affected, because if they aren't then that saves them needlessly looking around for a fault that doesnt exist, at least within their own household anyway!

Aaron : If the flat you moved into was set up for reception from Sky and which of course includes Freesat, then antenna does not come into the equation as the facilities provided are connected to a dish, at least they will be eventually if you are on a communal system.
Should this apply then you cannot connect a normal Freeview TV into this facility as the TV requires to be fed from a normal aerial.
Anything associated with satellite reception always (without exception) involves "F" type screw connections.
You could of course look around for an old standard Sky box as this will allow you to view the normal free channels without even using a card, although the news services will not be dedicated to the area you reside in, this being what a Sky viewing card is used for.
Freesat though is able to provide a dedicated news service by the fact that when you are first setting it up you have to enter your post code.

Lesley: If your main TV is capable of Freeview reception then place your Sky box in standby and check if Freeview is still being received on the main TV, if it is then is your upstairs TV fed via a splitter from the main TV's aerial connection?
Although you have not mentioned as such, but "if" the Sky installer arranged things so as to enable you to view Sky on your upstairs TV and which would be from the Sky boxes RF1 (or 2) output socket, he has maybe forgot to provide the Sky boxes aerial input socket with a link to the aerial.
Everything really hinges on whether or not Freeview is still working on your main TV, because if it is then its a case of checking around where your new Sky box has been installed to see if anything has been left unconnected.
If though on the other hand Freeview is not working on your main TV either then check with a neighbour just to make sure that there isnt a problem at the transmitter, as its impossible to check on this due to you not having provided your location, post code or one from nearby such as a shop / post office.

Jean Crossan: Although as Dave Lindsay has said you should really provide the model number of the TV involved to enable its menu system to be checked out, but "if" your TV has a "manual tuning" facility (check this in the set up menu / tuning) remove the aerial and carry out an auto tune without this being connected for the purpose of deleting anything stored, then go into the tuning menu / manual tune and enter the following mux channels one at a time and storing the results before moving onto the next mux channel.

John: If you are receiving Freeview from the Whitby PSB only transmitter, then when you state that the channels are invariably gone in the evening are you referring to when you select one from the programme guide it results in a blank screen? or that they are not even being indicated in the programme guide?
