Angus (Dundee City, Scotland) Full Freeview transmitterSunday 23 October 2011 5:03PM

Do you have any explanation why the Angus transmitter is transmitting at 20 megawatts for the BBC channels and 10 megawatts for some of the ITV channels? Where we used to live in Sutton Coldfield, the local Sutton Coldfield transmitter is now digital and is putting out all TV channels on 200 megawatts (if I have interpreted the information correctly). So here we are at one tenth the power for the BBC channels and one twentieth the power for others.

We are now receiving much better reception than in the past from the Angus transmitter. This is especially the case on ITV 3 and Drama which I see are still rated at 10,00 watts. Nothing from our end has changed - the ariel is the same and in the same position, but we have retuned the Freeview Box when prompted to do so. When re-tuning we get a 95-100% signal now - much improved from a few years ago. Has there been an uplift in output or signal directional change made? I would be very interested to know. Anyway we get a great signal on all channels now - well done!

I live just outside Tayport in Fife and I can see the Angus transmitter from here. The bearing is 340 degrees magnetic. I can get all the BBC channels perfectly but all the ITV channels are very poor and keep breaking up. I have bought a new digital ariel for the switchover - and it is in the loft. I have tried re-tuning, and orientating the ariel with a compass and a digital signal meter but to no avail. Any ideas please?
