Sry Steve I havnt got HD boxes here so cannot check for you.
With the problems with the normal channels it may be that they are not up and running yet?
I cannot say if it is a aerial problem has I don't think they are using any new aerial type for the HD signals.
There may be some software updates for your TVs at some time in the future?
With you saying you have HD TVs I assume you don't need HD cables?

Before switch over in the Stoke on Trent area I used to get lvl 10 signal strength with two TVs connected on one aerial now Iam only getting 6 sig strength so the signal is definately a lot weaker.

This seams to cause the Digi boxes not to tune in as required especially the BBC channels.

If other people have more than one TV connected together I would suggest removing even the aerial wire to the other TV as the signal strength is not "more" as they lead us to believe. (It is a lot weaker and fluctuating in quality).

People having problems with missing channels could try manually tuning in the missing(channel frequencies) 39 (40 for HD boxes only) 42 43 45 46 (sutton coldfield transmitter).
(note these are not channel numbers you use to get the channels on your remote)!
If you need the frequencies related to these numbers it tells you and the associated channels in the channel information at the top of this page.

Briantist: My Signal levels aren't to high.
In fact they have dropped with the switchover from 10s to 7s on the boxes.

The problem people are having with the box guides could be that the ITV guide has been removed so the boxes need a software upgrade.

The problem seems to be that frequecy 40 isn't needed by the freeview boxes so they get confused with auto tuning.
No HD channels may be another problem entirely as people with low and high sig strengths are having problems at the moment.
A manual tune seems to be the only option at the moment and that may not work.

I little advice for people that may help!
*****************************************
Make sure the aerial goes to the digibox first!

Then remove any "OLD" coax leads that go to old analoge tuners for vidoes, DVD players etc.

The old tuners cause poor digital signal quality and a mizzly picture on the TV if connected.

If your TV is a old type with no digi box inside then the lead can be removed that goes from the digi box to the TV.
