We have a SKY+ box and are no longer under contract with Sky. But to enable us to record programmes to watch later, and the pre-book whole series, using SkySat, we pay £10 per month to Sky to enable us to using the Sky+ box with all its facilities. I have been doing this for several years now and am wondering if the newer PVR TV recorders can do the same as our Sky+ box, but without having to pay £10 a month to Sky and actually store more programmes that we currently can. Our Sky+ box is about 3 years old - it replaced a previous one that had got old and cranky. We paid over £90 for our new one plus this £10p.m. to Sky. I think we could do better elsewhere but don't know where to start looking for good replacement TV recorders. Your help would be appreciated.
