I receive both Freesat and Freeview. The latter service is limited insomuch I am receiving from a relay transmitter, and therefore only receiving a basic 7 or 8 channels.
I have a Tivo Series 1 PVR connected in line with the Sky DRX550, which allows a greater range of viewing - together with full recording options.
Unfortunately, where the Tivo service is now about to wind up, I will lose my capability to record.
Being retired, and on limited disposable income, I cannot afford to sign up to Sky.
This is why I was enquirying about using my Sky viewing card in a second hand Sky PVR - where I was hoping to use its recording features.

Good afternoon,
Living in Quedgeley, Gloucester, I receive Freeview direct from the Ridge Hill transmitter.
Over the past (24) hours, reception, both visual and audio, has been breaking up several
times a minute. Signal bar on the TV indicates full strength, but quality bar has dropped
to only just over 60%.
There would appear to be no reported transmission problems with the Ridge Hill transmitter.

Good morning to you.
I currently view Freesat through a Sky Amstrad DRX550 receiver - with a viewing card.
If I was to purchase a second hand Sky HD PVR, could I use my Freesat viewing card in such a machine without having to subscribe to any Sky packages - would this situation be acceptable/legal?
