Hi too much signal is not as big a problem as you might think when wither hill switched i didnt have ine fail dut to over power and we are talking an area where i can get 78 dbuv off a lp45 log periodic i have also done a 8 way splitter off a xg10 with 60 dbuv per out put. If you are bothered about over signal and need to use a masthead amp over a splitter try the wolsey 4 way masthead with a 0 to 10 db gain these aer quiet good for medium signal areas.

Glen does your tv support 1080p some tvs don't this could cause your problem. To solve this it could be hard you might have to try to change it back blind going off the instruction book this is hard but can be done or try conecting up with a scart lead and go to an av channel that it is on. When you find it go into settings and change it back

J k can you get a digital box from the goverment through the digital switchover these boxs can be used without a scart but i have seen a lit of these boxs only last about 14 months and give up the ghost. There are other boxs out there what you need is a box with an rf modulator this will let you tune into a crt tv without a scart. Hope this helps

Paul t and k brackets are allways better than a small bracket with a crank mast this cost more but in a high wind you will be pleased you spent the extra money . As for running two points there are a number of ways of ouing this if you are in a very good reception area you could have 2 standard aerials or a slightly larger aerial with a external splitter or if you intend on running more points you can get splitters up to 8 outputs but this would need a very good high gain aerial. If you are in a medium to poor signal area 1 good aerial with a multi output masthead amp would work but allways get an amp with more outputs than you need now because you never know when you will want extra points.

Kb remember the coax could still be faulty in the wall. How many times have you been to a new build and found the coax faulty in the wall a nail or a badly kinked cable or the spark had two short runs of coax and a join sh@t happens but just smile you will work it out

Kb the two joins are the one's you can see. If the coax is in the walls could the plasterer have nicked the coax. You will have changed the joins for f conectors back to backs. Is the loss at the first join if it is the problem is between the loft and the first join. No help but to say to the customer that if he wants good signal the coax needs changing. You say 60 db loss is quality ok if it is the 20db in line amp might help but this will insert noise and that could be worse.
