Brian Stanley: Not all are on air yet, but most should be by the end of this year. Peebles and Jedburgh are alread broadcasting the BBC National DAB multiplex but I couldn't find any information about DAB from Yetholm other than this website having it listed as a planned future DAB transmitter.

daniella: If you have confirmed that your neighbours in the block are suffering the same problem then you need to contact the managing agent or housing association responsible for the building and get them to send someone out to check the communal aerial system.

David: As above, C38 is not used by any UK transmitter so should be a fairly safe choice.

All free TV channels in the UK
Saturday 1 October 2016 6:45PM

Kevin Nelsen: There are UK versions of various American channels which are all listed in the on screen TV Guide but you won't receive the US versions on a Sky box. Irish channels are only available on a subscription card registered to an Irish address.

Roger Kitsell: Varteg Hill is a radio transmitter carrying the BBC national stations on DAB along with Radios 1-4, Radio Wales and Radio Cymru on FM. It doesn't carry any TV services. Are you looking for an external aerial for FM/DAB or are you looking for an aerial to receive Freeview from Ystalyfera which is the TV transmitter indicated as covering your postcode?

Paul: Kilvey Hill does not have the COM7 mux which carries BBC 4 HD & BBC News HD. Coverage of COM7 and COM8 will not be expanded as these are temporary multiplexes which will close in 2020. As long as you still have the box and cabling in place there is no reason you can't use both Freeview and Freesat together with the same TV.

Paul: The 700MHz band will be auctioned off in 2020 which will require the frequencies currently used for COM7 and COM8 to be reused for other muxes. Starting next year there will be frequency changes on most transmitters as all the muxes are reorganised for the 700MHz clearance, which will result in some households needing new aerials (see the article on the ukfree.tv homepage). By the time COM7 and COM8 close it is expected that the remaining PSB and COM multiplexes will have switched to DVB-T2 transmission as already used by PSB3, COM7 & COM8 which will make up for the capacity lost by COM7 & COM8 closing and provide much more capacity in areas where COM7 & COM8 aren't available. One of the reasons COM7 and COM8 were created was to increase take up of DVB-T2 capable equipment so that people are ready for a future switchover.

Andrew McGilton: Never. COM7 and COM8 are temporary multiplexes available from 30 main transmitter sites until 2020. It is expected that the rest of the PSB and COM muxes will be converted to DVB-T2 in the next few years but no timescale has been announced for this to happen.

Rowridge (Isle Of Wight, England) transmitter
Wednesday 5 October 2016 12:50PM

Ken Valenrine: There are no faults or engineering work listed for Rowridge so assuming this is the correct transmitter that you are using (if you provide a postcode we can check) there is something wrong with your aerial system. Start at the back of the TV and check all cables and connectors are in tight then work back as far as you can safely access towards the aerial.
