Adrian: You haven't said where you are so the best I can do is list the transmitters broadcasting the SDL National multiplex which carries Boom Radio, which might be receivable in the areas you mention:

Hemel Hempstead
Zouches Farm
Bow Brickhill

If you reply with your actual location, somebody may be able to offer more specific advice.

Brian Butterworth: How about adding a report spam button, with reported posts being hidden from view until approved?

Neil: There is engineering work listed for Ridge Hill this week, which often requires the transmitter's power output to be reduced so that the engineers can work safely. Increasing the power would lead to interference with other transmitters which use the same frequency. If you provide a full postcode we can see what your predicted signal strength is and whether you might be able to get a better service from another transmitter.

Andrew Wilden: ITV still haven't rolled out all of their HD regions on Freeview. It's not known when this will happen, it's believed that the technical equipment/infrastructure is ready to go, but they are waiting for existing contracts to expire before the rollout of HD regions can be completed.

TIM wardlaw: Arqiva don't generally publish details of what works they are carrying out, just a list of which transmitters are affected each week.

David Richards: This is an independent technical help website, which has no connection to Freeview, any channel or the transmitter company.

Arqiva who operate the transmitters do not announce completion dates for any engineering work as much of it is dependant on weather conditions being suitable to carry out the work (the engineers cannot work high up the mast in heavy rain or high winds). There has been work going on at numerous transmitter sites across the country, particularly since the fire at Bilsdale to ensure that the structures (some of which are 50+ years old) are still in a safe condition and are not at risk of fire or collapse and to ensure that the transmitter equipment can continue to operate reliably.

Mark bradley: The posts above yours warn of current engineering works and a recent fault.

G.pugh: Presumably it will come back on once the fault listed in the engineering post above yours has been fixed. This is an independent technical help website, we don't have any more information on faults or engineering work than what is already publicly available.

Sy: There aren't any Freely boxes available yet. All that has been announced so far for Freely is a couple of manufacturers will be selling TVs with Freely built in and I'm not sure if any have even gone on sale yet.
