Billy: No, your Tivo box can't receive Freeview and you won't get any free channels via cable if you cancel with Virgin.

Edward anderson: Freesat is unaffected by signals from mobile phone masts as they are will not be picked up by a satellite dish, also the frequencies used to broadcast satellite TV are nowhere near to those used by any current mobile phone/broadband technology.

Joe Willey: If your aerial is pointed at Emley Moor, the elements (small rods) will be horizontal (i.e. pointing side to side) whereas for Sheffield they will be vertical (elements pointing up and down). Emley Moor shows a much stronger predicted signal for your location, so if your aerial currently points at Sheffield you should consider changing it for a wide band aerial pointed at Emley Moor.

Peter Wineman: If you mean the transmitter, there are no faults showing. This website is independent and has no connection with any broadcaster or the company that operates the transmitter.

Alan: It's certainly possible that your signal strength is still too high, but just to confirm does your TV have a DVB-T2 capable tuner? Lots of TV were marketed as HD ready but only have a DVB-T tuner and aren't capable of receiving the PSB3/BBCB multiplex, which is broadcast in DVB-T2 in order to provide more capacity for the HD channels than is possible with DVB-T.

Alan: With 90% signal strength from a small log periodic, a high gain aerial was definitely unnecessary, although with both the aerials you mention being wideband types there shouldn't be any difference between them when it comes to future-proofing. Given that you can receive all the channels currently on PSB3 via Freesat, I wouldn't rush to do anything about DVB-T2 reception as there still hasn't been any timescale announced for a switchover from DVB-T to DVB-T2 and you can always add a Freeview HD set top box if you haven't replaced your TV by then (I was using a Manhattan Plaza HD-T2 to get HD channels on my old bedroom TV until I recently replaced it with a new smart TV with inbuilt DVB-T2 tuner).

Eddy: Hull is well outside the coverage area for the North Yorkshire mux, you'd be better off listening via internet radio than putting up an aerial in attempt to receive a very weak or non existent DAB signal. You could always use a device such as a Chromecast Audio if you want to listen via a hifi system rather than a PC/laptop/tablet/phone.
