Murray Snudge: Which LG model do you have? Does it have an option anywhere for non-Freesat mode?

Chris: There has been no date announced for any COM7 or COM8 services to close and their licences have been extended by Ofcom. Given that the 700MHz centre gap frequencies used used by those multiplexes haven't even been auctioned yet (the entire 700MHz auction has been delayed and may not now take place until later this year or even early next year) it is very unlikely that any closure date will even be announced, let alone take place this year.

Sarah-Jane Morris: Your mother's house is connected to a communal aerial system which receives the signal from the transmitter and distributes it via cable to each property (either underground or running from house to house and not related to the Virgin Media cable TV network). You need to get whoever is responsible for that system to send someone to investigate and fix it properly, not just keep resetting whatever is tripping. Only the council (or whoever is responsible for the communal aerial system) can do that, it isn't something that the transmitter company or anyone else can fix.

Annie : This is an independent website where volunteer contributors provide technical help with reception problems, this is not the website of Freeview or any channel or broadcaster. There is no opportunity either here or anywhere else for anyone to vote on which channels should join Freeview. Alibi is a subscription channel owned by UKTV, which is part of the commercial arm of the BBC. There is little chance of Alibi joining Freeview unless their subscription contracts with Sky & BT etc expire and UKTV believe that they can earn more money in advertising sales from reaching a wider audience (very unlikely in the current climate where most advertisers have reduced or haled their advertising campaigns) than they get in subscription revenue from Sky & BT.

If you are having a reception problem, please provide a full postcode and let us know which channels you are having trouble with.

Richard: If you can get a reasonable broadband speed at home, it would probably be far easier to listen via internet radio. It would probably also cost less to buy a few wifi-enabled radios or smart speakers (e.g. Amazon Echo Dot or Google Nest Mini are both available at 44-50 and sometimes discounted to half that) which would also give you easy access to a much wider choice of stations. It's probably worth thinking about before having a new loft/rooftop aerial installed or buying new DAB radios.

Rex Watson: Sony Movies recently moved to COM6, however it is also still being carried on its previous multiplex on LCN 792. Nothing has been announced regarding when this arrangement will end, or what will replace the old version of Sony Movies. Sony Movies Classic can be found on the local mux in areas that have a local TV station on LCN 7 or 8.

Trevor Harris: In what way are the BBC not providing a good service? I've personally been enjoying many of the programmes shown across BBC 1, 2, 3 & 4 over the last couple of months. There is no chance of anyone's licence fee being reduced or refunded because they don't like the programmes, as it isn't a subscription (nor is it a tax and it funds other things apart from the BBC). Or did you have another reason?

John martin: There is only so much advertising budget to go around. If the BBC took adverts it would put ITV out of business, hence why ITV and the other commercial broadcasters don't want that to happen and the idea has never been seriously considered.

Heather Grierson: No one can offer much help if you don't tell us where you are (please provide a full postcode) and which transmitter you are receiving. Without that information, all I can suggest is to check for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and do not retune.
