Hi Michael, I have 1 tv with freesat, I have never had free view but equally have never tried as I did not need it before. It's connected to an outside aerial. My concern is that I have no idea, or way to tell, if the problem is the aerial, the wiring from the aerial or the tv itself.
The tv is digital with hd so I am assuming that is not the issue but this is not my area of knowledge.
I am thinking of getting a 2nd tv with free view but don't want to end up paying £150+ for a new aerial if not necessary.
Thanks

Hi jb38, that's definitely what it says. It's a 32inch screen so guessing its the same model. It says dvb-t on the back. Why is the dvb-2 important just for standard free view?
Thanks

Hi JB38, OK, thanks. I think I maybe confused things. I am not getting any Free view at all and am trying to identify the cause of the problem or at least have an educated guess before I call an engineer who could tell me whatever they like as I have no idea :-)
Thanks

Hi both. I think we are getting there now :-) just to summarise...
I have a Philips tv with built in free view (which I have never used) I have a separate freesat box connected to an old sky dish which is what I use currently. When I connect the tv to the roof aerial and try and tune it it finds no channels and gives a poor reception message. Am thinking of getting. Anew tv in another room which has an aerial socket so I may need to use free view in there. I just wanted to try and pin point if the problem is the aerial, the wiring, the tv etc as I hate being completely ignorant and open to being ripped off by whichever engineer I call out.
Thanks

Hi all, update time. I figured out to factory reset my tv, tried an internal aerial and then reset my external aerial cable. I can now get BBC Wales, ccbc and BBC radio but nothing other than BBC. Any advise on this one now? Much appreciated.

I live in CH60 and get absolutely zero digital reception at all. How do I tell if I need a new aerial or find what the problem is? I don't want to call someone out and get ripped off through lack of knowledge
