My situ is ive been with Sky for over 10years,still using original box,dish etc, on the basic package, have wanted to cancel subscription for a while now as im having problems reciving the satellite signal and the box freezing up almost every day. Dont know if problem is the dish, lnb, cabling or sky box?..but cant afford the engineer callout charge. I bought a Full HD tv earlier in 2010 when we had the digital switchover, but havnt even received any HD channels on it at all. Not knowing where the fault lies in which piece of the set up, im wondering how best i can receive any channels in HD without paying Sky subs. What would i get in the way of channels when i cancel my Sky subs? Ive heard of freesat from sky but dont know what that is either? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
